Let’s face it, as a society, we are fixated with numbers. Whether it’s miles per gallon, interest rates, or years to retirement we are very much aware of numbers. This is also true with our health, more specifically, our weight.

Watching your weight can be like watching the stock market; it can be volatile, and you must have the right personality to weigh frequently. While fixating on our weight, it’s important to realize there are other numbers related to weight, weight loss, and lifestyle change that in many cases are just as if not more important than that number on the scale.

What are these other numbers to take into consideration?

Lab Results: Our lab results are a great indicator of our overall health. With major, healthy lifestyle changes, we can experience great results in our labs. Medications can be reduced and sometime even eliminated.

Body Fat and BMI: Body fat is also a good health indicator. Change in lifestyle can lower your body fat. BMI (body mass index), which is formulated by height and weight, is yet another indicator of our overall health. Your BMI can also improve with healthy lifestyle change.
